The 26th Convocation of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal will be held on Friday, 17th May, 2019.

Given below are certain important guidelines for students to follow for smooth conduct of the Convocation. Students are requested to read them carefully and adhere to the instructions.
Online registration will be deactivated on May 05, 2019 at 5.00 pm.

Day and Date : Friday, 17th May 2019.
Venue - Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre, MG Road, Mangaluru, 575005, Karnataka.
Time - 3.00 pm – 5.30 pm

Registration

In order to participate in Convocation, you must register not later than May 05, 2019 . Eligible students who want to receive their degrees at the Convocation are required to submit their application online through University website. . Offline applications will NOT be accepted. Students who have already collected their degree certificates in absentia are not eligible to receive the degree at this Convocation. Students who have successfully completed course requirements will be eligible to register online.
Online registration will be deactivated on May 05, 2019  at 5.00 pm.

Visa for Parents

Students who require a letter signed by the College to assist your parents for obtaining visa to attend the Convocation ceremony shall complete the Letter request form which is available in the Convocation website. The letter will be provided to only those students who have graduated and are eligible to receive the degree at this Convocation. Filled up applications has to be sent to Heads of their respective college

Live Webcast

Live webcast of the ceremony will also be arranged on the University website on the day of Convocation. .

    William W. Pinsky, M.D., FAAP, FACC

William W. Pinsky is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and Board Chair of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), ECFMG’s nonprofit foundation. Prior to joining ECFMG in mid-2016, Dr. Pinsky was Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of Ochsner Health System (OHS). He also served as Executive Vice President for Ochsner International and Professor and Head at the Ochsner Clinical School, a U.S. partner of The University of Queensland School of Medicine in Australia. Dr. Pinsky retains an Honorary Professor title from the University of Queensland. Dr. Pinsky graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and trained at Baylor College of Medicine and at Texas Children’s Hospital. Before joining OHS, Dr. Pinsky held a number of senior academic and executive roles at Wayne State University School of Medicine (Associate Dean) in Detroit, and at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Pinsky has served on the Boards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, and the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers where he also served as President. He is the founder of Racing For Kids®, a 501(c)(3) foundation that uses professional motorsports to promote the health care needs of children and children's hospitals. Dr. Pinsky is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicians. His most recent honors include the Leadership Award for the Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences, presented by The University of Queensland in 2015, and The Founders Award, presented by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2013.

Instructions for Awardees


Reporting:

You are hereby advised to report one day prior to the convocation or on the day of the Convocation to complete convocation formalities at the institutional level. On the day of the Convocation ceremony awardees must collect their ceremonial gown by showing their confirmed registration email at the respective counters made available at the Convention Centre, as mentioned below. :

  • Awardees shall assemble at least by 1.00 pm at the venue of the convocation and meet their respective institution coordinators to re-confirm their participation.
  • Convocation procession will start at 3.00 pm.
  • All awardees including Ph.D’s / Gold Medalists / Super- Specialty awardees are to be seated well on time before start of the procession.
  • Seating plan will be displayed at the venue. Stickers having details of awardees names and registration numbers will be pasted on the designated chairs.
  • While awarding the degrees, awardees should line up in the proper order to ensure minimum loss of time.
  • Hi-Tea will be served soon after the function.
  • If you are unable to attend the Convocation after registration process, kindly send a mail to institution concerned and obtain the confirmation of the cancellation.

PARENTS & GUESTS

The University will issue an entry pass to enter the Auditorium (convocation hall). Awardees and their parents who have registered for Convocation are permitted to enter the Convocation Hall. The other accompanying person(s), if any, have to be seated at the other hall where arrangements will be made for display of convocation proceedings.

Those who have received Entry Pass to sit in the Convocation Auditorium have to be seated 30 minutes before the commencement of the Convocation ceremony at 3.00 pm. at the designated area.
